Karall was born to a tribe of Deep Orcs, dwelling in the underdeeps, far, far beneath the ground of Eriador. to them the surface world was as remote and legendary as the underdeeps are to most of the free peoples of Middle-earth. His people have dwelt so far underground for so long that they have developed white skin, and transluscent hair, nails, and fangs. Karalls white eyes shine in torch or lantern light, and if he ever encountered even moonlight it would burn his skin severely.
He developed his skills at running and lyeing from a young age, though he also received the usual orcish weapons training. His skills in running long distances earned him a post as a messenger, and he was trained in memory techniques to remember long coded messages. His duty to run between his tribes lairs and outposts, delivering news, orders, warnings, or other messages.
When Gallus attacked his tribes hold he could not get out with a plea for help. Joining the combat, he was knocked out by a blow to his head. Gallus spared him, and The Mad Hatter, Caris, took him as a servant as part of his share of the spoils. He was terrified of the surface people, and the initial torture inflicted on him by Caris, and Gra-Illska insured his undying loyalty, and fear of his new master.
Karall has devoted himself to his new master, and even learned some of the surface tongues. He also has picked up a little knowledge of spells. Caris has rewarded him with weapons, armor, and valuables. He acts as Caris chief servant, and keeps track of his masters treasure, slaves, and other servants.
Karall "collects" scars as a sign of his power, highlighting them with red paint.
