Aldaband is a Goblin of the Goblin Kingdom born to free parents. They were typical middle class business Goblins, and he grew up as a shrewd bargainer and hard worker. when the latest Deep Orc war broke out he lied about his age and enlisted in the military. He was quick, agile, and strong, and unusually resistant to pain, all of which served him well in the service. He acquited himself well against the Orcs.
When his tour ended he renlisted and stayed in the military, rising to the rank of Captain. He was rotated to City Patrol, which he didn't mind, as it gave a chance to spend time with his best friend Koroband. He was working the gate when Gallus arrived in the Goblin Kingdom. Later, while on patrol, he and his men came upon Sciabrena, and Sciathena under attack by petty thieves fell instantly in love with Sciathena. Goblins have a strange tendency to do that, and mate for life. If their love is not returned it may eventually fade, although there are Goblins who have never married after falling in love and being rejected once.
Gallus was given the prisoners to deal with as he chose under Goblin Law. He held a race to slay the leader of the petty criminals, and Aldaband won. Instead of money he requested an evenning with Sciathena as his prize. After their date she sent him away, explaining that she could never be his.
Aldaband then retired from the Service, and sold everything he had. He used all of his money to buy Sciathena a large gem as a token of his affection. He then enlisted in Gallus' service hoping to be near her. When Sciathena learned of this she arranged his transfer to Korobands command. She visits him often, and yet resists commitment. Aldaband will never give up pursuing her unless she cuts him off completely. If that were to happen he would either devote himself to his work or seek death in battle rather than live without her. However, as long as she keeps coming to him he has hope that one day she will be his.
