Thalon-Mayor of Carandor

Thalon is a Noldor elf born in Ost-in-Edhil. Unlike most of his peers he preferred to spend his time singing, playing music, and celebrating. The more serious minded followers of Galadriel found him immature, and annoying. The dedicated, driven smiths of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain looked down on his lack of direction, and sneered at him for wasting time. He often sought solace in drink, and fell in with strange company, such as dwarves.

He finally left his home before its destruction, and wandered the world looking for songs, celebrations, and beer. Eventually washing up in Rhudaur, he fell in with a dwarf in service to Hanse and Laura. They spent most of their non adventuring time drinking, and the rise of the kingdom period is a little fuzzy to them. They claim that it wasn't without reason, as the party had many close calls.

Despite all of this Thalon was always a steadfast friend, and could be counted on to be sober, and helpful while on a mission. He always dressed well, and enjoyed playing in the Inns and Taverns visited by the adventurers. He loved the semi city life in Carandor, and became quite popular there, going so far as to buy a house. During the great orc attacks he lead the local forces in defense of the town, while Darius lead the forces in Dispar, and Hanse, and Laura defended their manor near the East Wood. After this he was elected mayor by the citizens, and when the Kingdom was recognized Laura made his position permanent until he retires.

Thalon does most of the technical administrative work for both Dispar, and Carandor. He acts as Darius' chief of staff for the Misty March, and as organizer of the local gaurds. Borandil "Trollhopper" is the chief gaurdsman, and serves Thalon in both towns.

Since becoming mayor Thalon has gotten serious, stopped drinking (mostly), and begun studying the things he thinks a mayor should know. He has developed a deal of administrative skill, and studied strategy, tactics, and military organization. He has effectively managed the refugees and shanty towns that have sprung up outside of both Dispar, and Carandor. Everyone is fed, and has healing if they need it. Crime is dealt with swiftly, and fairly. Thus he has avoided many of the troubles recently faced by Thuin Boid, Fennis Druinen, and Maig Tura (which has been rebuilt in memory of Baga Montouri).
