Hanse is a Sylvan Elf Scout, and his rise to husband of Laura Araver, King of Rhudaur, and role in the reestablishing of the Kingdom of Rhudaur is unusual to say the least. He was born in Mithlond, but during an outing as an infant he disappeared from his bed. He has no memory prior to waking up in Thuin Boid, grown, and with some very interesting skills. There he encountered Laura, an aspiring mage seeking her fortune in the world. He fell instantly in love with her, though it was some time before she noticed his feelings. Together with several others, they formed a party, and undertook an assignment to clear out an orc lair. During this adventur the animist was killed, and it was then that Hanse began his long study of herblore, and lay medicine.
Hanse and Lauran continued to adventure, helping the Vulseggi, and becoming an increasing problem for the forces of evil in the area. Comrades perished, and new friends recruited until the group took the form it has today. Eventually Laura noticed and returned Hanses affections, and they were married.
With the defeat of the Hillmen, and Angmarim forces, and the clearing of Cameth Brin, Elrond revealed that Laura was descended from Arthedan Royalty, and thence from Arnorian, and then Numenorean royalty. She claimed the throne of Rhudaur, and the free peoples supported and recognized this claim.
Although Hanse is now King, Laura really runs the place. From the day he woke up in Thuin Boid Hanse has been a great shot with a bow, sneakier than most elves, and has a disquietingly good ability to find and disarm traps and open locks. He is a scout, and that was all he ever really wanted to be. He has developed considerable skills in the course of his life, and has made an intense study of medicine, begun out of nessecity, but continued after replacement animists were found. He is rarely at Cameth Brin, and can usually be found out in the Kingdom, in secret, making sure things are going as they should.
He is sometimes accompanied by others of his old comrades. Sharranna, Alethia, and Martin can often be found wondering the Kingdom, fighting evil, and dispensing healing, help, and advice as needed.
